Anchorage International Film Festival
Grab some popcorn. True to the motto, the Anchorage International Film Festival (AIFF) features international and independent films, and they are truly “films worth freezing for.” Alaska’s largest film festival features Alaskan auteurs and introduces new films and filmmakers from around the world to all the creative magic of the Great Land. The silver screen shines when the annual festival returns.
The festival will be on screens all over town December 6-14, 2024. Stick around for the Golden Oosikar Awards (a name which combines the famous film award with a famous portion of walrus anatomy) to see if your favorite film won. These awards recognize the festival’s best feature, documentary, short film, animation and super short. Past AIFF award winners have gone on to win Academy Awards as well as honors at major film festivals.
